History in the Making!

The inaugural Holy Shroud Conference in Australia, held in October 2023, marked a groundbreaking moment for both faith and science, drawing global attention to the mystery and significance of the Shroud of Turin. This unique event united scholars, scientists, and theologians to explore the Shroud’s authenticity and spiritual relevance. Pivotal to making the conference a success were key members of Othonia, a lay apostolate dedicated to promoting awareness of the Shroud. Nora Creech and Emma Wagner were instrumental in coordinating international collaboration and outreach, while Father Andrew Dalton, a Legionary of Christ and prominent Shroud scholar, delivered powerful theological insights grounded in deep scientific research. Andrea Stockalis contributed significantly to event organization and media engagement, ensuring the conference’s impact reached a wide audience. Together, their efforts not only elevated discourse around the Shroud but also sparked renewed interest across Australia and beyond.
