Every Othonia vetted speaker has completed the Postgraduate Certificate in Shroud Studies, has agreed to Othonia’s presentation guidelines on the core facts, and says clearly when they are sharing a personal opinion.
Fr. Andrew Dalton, LC
Professor, Postgraduate Certificate in Shroud Studies
Fr. Dalton is a popular international speaker on the Shroud. His appearance on the Pints With Aquinas podcast has generated over 3.3 million views. He has presented at dozens of parishes in English, Spanish and Italian. He’s been featured at the SEEK conference, National Eucharistic Congress, and Young Catholic Professionals.
He teaches Synoptic Gospels and Biblical Greek and Hebrew at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome. He also teaches the biblical theology of the Passion of Christ for Othonia’s postgraduate certificate in Shroud Studies.

Speaker Expenses and Fee
Speaker Expenses:
- Host location responsible for travel, lodging, and meal expenses
- Travel reimbursement: flights over 7 hours may require sleep option upgrade
- Lodging options: rectory, seminaries, priest lodging, private homes or hotels
- Meals: please provide all meals while at host location
- Please provide ground transportation to/from airport and all venues

Othonia, North American Director
Nora Creech is a lecturer and executive leader dedicated to educating people about the Shroud of Turin, connecting its mysterious image to the Gospel message. As an experienced speaker, she shares the history, science, and pastoral implications of the Shroud, captivating diverse audiences at schools and churches, community events and at conferences including the National Eucharistic Congress and World Youth Day.

Executive Leadership & Global Reach
Nora serves as the Director of Othonia Inc., a non-profit organization committed to making Jesus known through the Holy Shroud. Under her leadership, Othonia develops dynamic exhibits, educational materials, social media content, and manages educational events globally, including a website featuring an AI agent for information dissemination.
Further expanding her impact, Nora is a member of the Scientific Committee for the Othonia Research Group, which is an Apostolate of the Pontifical University Regina Apostolorum in Rome, Italy.

Nora holds a Master of Arts in Faith and Culture from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, TX, building on her foundational degrees in Business and English from the University of Colorado and her MBA from Loyola University in New Orleans, LA. This unique blend of academic expertise allows her to skillfully integrate scientific and historical findings with profound theological interpretations in her presentations and in the exhibits and educational materials she helps to develop.

Francine Pirola
Othonia Shroud Apostolate
Francine Pirola completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Sindonology at the Ateneo Pontificio Regina Apostolorum in Rome in 2025, bringing together her love of science and theology. She holds qualifications in Physiology (BSc Hons, UNSW), Religion and Religious Education (MA, Fordham) and Theology of the Body, and is a Senator for the Australian Catholic University.
With her husband Byron she directs PMRC Australia and co-founded SmartLoving, a Catholic marriage formation apostolate serving thousands of couples worldwide. She speaks on the science and history of the Shroud, and on the Shroud read through the Theology of the Body, and can bring a life-size replica of the Shroud and Sudarium to communities within driving distance of Sydney.

Nan Balfour
Othonia Shroud Apostolate
Nan Balfour is a writer, speaker, and guide for the “Who is the Man of the Shroud?” exhibit at the Pilgrim Center of Hope in San Antonio, Texas. She holds a postgraduate certificate in Shroud Studies.
Nan presents “A Journey with the Shroud.” This journey focuses on the parallels between what is known about the Shroud image and the accounts of Jesus Christ’s Passion and death in the Gospels.

Professor, Postgraduate Certificate in Shroud Studies
Fr. Spence is a professor of theology at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome. He is a recognized speaker on the Shroud, known for his ability to connect scientific, historical, and theological perspectives. He has presented his research to diverse audiences in both English and Italian.

Bill Lauto
Othonia Shroud Apostolate
Bill Lauto is the Northeast Director of Othonia’s SAGE (Shroud Apostolate Group, English) in the United States and has formal Shroud studies certification from the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome.
He has been studying the Shroud of Turin since age 14 and researches geological, celestial, and environmental factors from 2,000 years ago that align with Gospel accounts. Bill holds a B.S. from St. John’s University and energy certifications from the New York Institute of Technology and the State University of New York, and has lectured internationally on energy and environmental topics.
Bill presents “Faith and Reason Revival,” a full-day retreat. He sets up displays and replicas the afternoon or evening before, and the day closes with an afternoon Mass.
Based in the New York area. Travels throughout all eleven states of Othonia’s Northeast region, and elsewhere in the United States by arrangement as a multi-day visit.

Pam McCue
Othonia Shroud Apostolate
Pam McCue is an experienced speaker on the Shroud, and owns a beautiful Othonia “Who is the Man of the Shroud” traveling exhibit that she shares across the country. Pam is a retired engineer, with BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering. She focuses on the wonder and science of the Shroud, and wants to share it with as many people as possible.

Andrea Stockalis
Othonia Shroud Apostolate — Pacific Region Director
Andrea holds a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering and spent over 15 years in the biopharma industry researching and developing cancer therapies before learning about the holy Shroud. A deeper dive into this fascinating burial cloth redirected her life, imparting a conviction to share it out as far as possible.
Andrea now coordinates international Holy Shroud speaking events for Othonia and travels locally herself to offer talks. She speaks on the science and spirituality of the Holy Shroud, and youth and young adult retreats are a favorite space to share Jesus in His Shroud.
Based near San Jose, CA. Travels within 1–2 hours with ease, and further across the Pacific region with advance planning.

Jeff Burch
Othonia Shroud Apostolate
Jeff Burch has devoted the past five years to an in-depth study of the Shroud, engaging with a wide range of scholarly materials including books, formal courses, and expert lectures. He holds a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies and has completed postgraduate coursework in Shroud Studies, further strengthening his academic foundation in the subject.
Jeff’s presentations explore the ways in which the Shroud aligns with and illuminates the Gospel narratives—drawing on scientific analysis, historical context, and close observation. His work highlights how these two sources reinforce one another, offering a deeper understanding of Jesus’ crucifixion, death, and resurrection, and inviting audiences into a more profound encounter with the heart of the Catholic faith.

Dr. Denise Montagnino
Othonia Shroud Apostolate
Denise J. Montagnino, DO, MPH, is a wife, mother of six, board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist, Shroud educator, and founder of the Shrouded Stories initiative. Her journey with the Holy Shroud began on a quiet Christmas Eve while researching first-century Jewish birth practices and the swaddling cloths of the Christ Child. What began as curiosity became a profound encounter, and Denise went on to pursue postgraduate studies in Shroud Studies at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome.
Drawing on medicine, science, history, and Scripture, she presents the Shroud as a compelling witness to the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Christ — inviting audiences not only to weigh the evidence, but to deepen their faith and draw closer to the Risen Lord. She also serves as Co-Chair of Volunteers for SAGE at Othonia.

Dave Emmith
Othonia Shroud Apostolate
Dave Emmith is a 2024 graduate of the Science and Faith Institute’s Postgraduate Certificate in Shroud Studies program. A retired U.S. Army warrant officer, he served 20 years on active duty before spending 25 years as a software engineer in the defense industry, holding a Top Secret/SCI clearance for 38 years.
Today Dave combines his lifelong interest in science, history, and the Catholic faith through research and presentations on the Shroud of Turin. He focuses on the history and science of the Shroud, especially the failed 1988 radiocarbon dating study.
Based in Southern Florida (November–April) and Maine (June–September).

Kathryn Costello
Othonia Shroud Apostolate
Kathryn Costello grew up in Connecticut and Massachusetts and has spent most of her life in New England. After graduating from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, she lived in a Franciscan community in New York City and worked with homeless teenagers. For the past 20 years she has run her own business in photography, graphic design and web development. ARCH International has twice sent her to the Kurdistan region of Northern Iraq to photograph and interview people on the Nineveh Plains — among the oldest continuous Catholic communities in the world — documenting their struggles, including the ISIS invasion of their homeland.
Kathryn presents “Exploring the Shroud of Turin: What Has Been Hidden Comes to Light,” with a particular focus on the science and forensic evidence, Scriptural connections, and the role photography has played at pivotal moments in deepening our understanding of the Shroud — revealing details invisible to the naked eye and hidden for centuries.
Based in Massachusetts. Prefers engagements within driving distance, from New England to the Washington, DC area, and is willing to travel further.

Steve Fitzhugh
Othonia Shroud Apostolate
Steve Fitzhugh is a Shroud Studies alumnus and a retired engineering professor. He was first introduced to the Shroud of Turin in 1981. His Shroud studies consist mainly in contemplating the mystery of the formation of the Divine Image on the Shroud.
His presentations seek to kindle the love of our Lord and Savior in response to his infinite love and mercy shown in his Passion and Resurrection as recorded on the Shroud of Turin. His presentation, “The Passion and Love of Jesus: Told through the Shroud of Turin,” relates the evidence recorded on the Shroud to the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Holy Rosary. He can adapt his presentations to meet the needs of a wide variety of ages and audiences.

Doug Powell
Othonia Shroud Apostolate
Doug Powell is a graduate of the Ateneo Pontificio Regina Apostolorum’s Postgraduate Certificate in Shroud Studies and is working on a PhD researching the Shroud. A Christian apologist with an MA from Biola University, he has authored more than a dozen books and contributed to several study Bibles.
He speaks on the Shroud of Turin with a full-size replica, and is particularly interested in how Byzantine icons — including the 6th-century Christ Pantocrator icon at Sinai — connect to the Shroud image. Doug is also a novelist, author of the Graham Eliot series of biblical archaeological thrillers, and a recording artist.
Based in the Nashville, TN area. Travels nationwide and internationally.

Oliver Tseng
Othonia Shroud Apostolate
Oliver Tseng was one of the original founders of the Shroud Apostolate Group – English (SAGE) and has completed the Postgraduate Certificate in Shroud Studies from the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum (APRA) in Rome. He also holds a Master of Arts in Science and Religion from Biola University.
His calling is to integrate faith and technology, and he is the creator of the soon-to-be-released Shroud Image Analyzer app. Oliver gives general presentations on the Shroud of Turin and welcomes opportunities to speak to audiences of any size.
Based in Atlanta, GA. Travels within approximately a two-hour driving radius.

Dan Vogel
Othonia Shroud Apostolate
Dan Vogel has studied the Shroud of Turin for 40 years and presents on it to parishes and communities in the St. Louis area. His mission is to make Jesus Christ known through the Shroud using historical and scientific evidence.
A cradle Catholic and a member of Sacred Heart parish in Valley Park, Missouri, for 40 years, Dan has been a Knight of Columbus for about 20 years. As Grand Knight he helped lead his council to Star Council honors three times. He owned a multiline insurance agency for 38 years, founded the charity Christ’s Helping Hands to help families in need, and has led Bible studies and given biblical presentations.
