The Shroud of Turin is one of the most studied artifacts in the world. You’ve seen how this ancient cloth is like a mirror of the Gospel. And you’ve seen the way it links the fields of science, history, and faith.

But the story of the Shroud doesn’t end here.

Modern scientists still cannot explain how the mysterious image was formed. They have theories. Some think the image was formed naturally in the tomb, like a chemical reaction. Others think the image was created by an intense burst of radiant energy. But no one has been able to recreate a “Shroud of Turin” exactly like the original.

Many people believe the image was caused by Jesus’ Resurrection. If that’s true, then the Shroud is a sign of the love that conquers death.

Even skeptics are fascinated by the Shroud. So the research continues. Thanks to the way technology is advancing, you may see exciting new discoveries in your lifetime.

Now that you’ve investigated the Shroud, one question remains for you to answer.

It’s the same question Jesus asked his disciples on a dusty road two thousand years ago: “Who do you say that I am?”

Jesus encouraged his followers to attest to their faith in him. When John entered the tomb, “He saw and believed.” Doubting Thomas fell to his knees and proclaimed, “My Lord and My God!”

What about you? When you look at the man of the Shroud, how will you answer the question: “Who do you say that I am?”
