Nacido en Monterrey, M\u00e9xico, el 19 de noviembre de 1953, el Padre Guerra se convirti\u00f3 m\u00e1s tarde en sacerdote de los Legionarios de Cristo y desempe\u00f1\u00f3 varios roles de liderazgo y docencia. El Pontificio Ateneo Regina Apostolorum lo recuerda como exdirector regional de los Legionarios de Cristo, profesor y promotor de las exposiciones del Sudario que comenzaron en Jerusal\u00e9n y Roma antes de llegar a otras ciudades. La propia historia de Othonia dice que el Padre Guerra so\u00f1aba con establecer exposiciones del Sudario en todo el mundo, y que sus esfuerzos llevaron a la primera exposici\u00f3n en el Centro Notre Dame en Jerusal\u00e9n en 2006.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El inter\u00e9s del padre Guerra en el Sudario no era meramente acad\u00e9mico. Cre\u00eda que el Sudario pod\u00eda ayudar a los hombres y mujeres modernos a encontrarse con el Evangelio tanto con fe como con raz\u00f3n. En sus escritos, se cuid\u00f3 de decir que el Sudario no es el fundamento de la fe cristiana, ni un objeto m\u00e1gico, ni algo que obligue a creer. M\u00e1s bien, lo ve\u00eda como un \u201cpuente\u201d que puede llevar a una persona hacia Cristo, especialmente en una era visual y cient\u00edfica. Escribi\u00f3 que la imagen ayuda a las personas a recordar lo que representa: el amor \u201chasta el fin\u201d. Para \u00e9l, la ciencia no reemplazaba la fe, sino que pod\u00eda abrir una puerta. El Sudario, cre\u00eda, permit\u00eda que el mensaje de la Pasi\u00f3n, muerte y Resurrecci\u00f3n de Cristo se presentara de una manera que apelaba a los sentidos, la mente y el coraz\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"667\" src=\"https:\/\/othonia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image-1024x667.png\" alt=\"imagen\" class=\"wp-image-1883\" srcset=\"https:\/\/othonia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image-1024x667.png 1024w, https:\/\/othonia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image-300x195.png 300w, https:\/\/othonia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image-768x500.png 768w, https:\/\/othonia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image-1536x1001.png 1536w, https:\/\/othonia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image-18x12.png 18w, https:\/\/othonia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image.png 1722w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Esa convicci\u00f3n se concret\u00f3 en exposiciones, conferencias, peregrinaciones y educaci\u00f3n. El Padre Guerra ayud\u00f3 a promover las exposiciones permanentes y itinerantes \u201c\u00bfQui\u00e9n es el Hombre de la S\u00e1bana Santa?\u201d con sedes iniciales en Jerusal\u00e9n, Roma, Sacramento, Lisboa, Den Bosch, Cracovia y M\u00e9xico. Para dar continuidad a estos esfuerzos, fund\u00f3 Othonia en 2009 con el Padre Rafael Pascual, LC, en el Ateneo Pontificio Regina Apostolorum en Roma, concibi\u00e9ndolo como un centro de educaci\u00f3n, investigaci\u00f3n y di\u00e1logo sobre la S\u00e1bana Santa. Incluso mientras se somet\u00eda a quimioterapia, el Padre Guerra asisti\u00f3 a la inauguraci\u00f3n de la exposici\u00f3n en 2012 en la Universidad An\u00e1huac en M\u00e9xico porque, como mexicano, esa apertura le importaba profundamente.
